Apollo 11 broadcasts from the moon.
Perhaps the most
famous of all broadcasts was that of Neil
Armstrong's first steps on the moon at 10:56 PM EDT,
July 20, 1969. Armstrong stepping from the
Eagle lander onto the Moon's dusty surface was
recorded by a television camera, whose live signal
was fed back to NASA Mission Control in Houston. The
broadcast from the moon also contains one of the
most famous misstatements in history: Armstrong had
planned to say
"That's one small step
for a man, one giant leap for mankind,"
but forgot the "a" at the last second.
