Small vintage transistor radios don't get any better than this "shirt pocket" Sony radio. The Sony TR-620 was introduced into the UK in June 1960, it's  extremely compact using the new generation of sub-miniature components. At the time this transistor radio set new standards for quality and style and even today this radio is in a class of its own.

The TR-620 was moulded in four colours, Black, Blue, White, and Coral Red. The radio was sold in a presentation box that included a black leather case, earphone, external aerial, polishing cloth and user guide. The radio cost 18 guineas (£18.90) when launched in 1960 in the UK. Today these transistor radios are very collectable and sell on e-bay between £30 and £150 depending on the radio condition and the original accessories.
